Generally , it adds 30 behaviors, conduct or sexual preference that will be "protected" under Hate Crimes bill. I am not going to put the details here -- only the link. Some of the descriptions may be offensive to some -- be forewarned. This bill was sponsored by Rep. Conyers ( surprise, surprise) and has 120 sponsors. It flew through the House and is presently in the Senate. My only comment is I never thought I would live long enough to see pedophilia protected. This flipping deranged federal government needs to be b*tch slapped and put back in its rightful place (yeah, okay, Auntie Janet, I'm a radical -- sue me).

Posts: 148 05/07/09 16:15:44	My only comment is I never thought I would live long enough to see pedophilia protected. You can relax, no where in the bill is pedophilia protected. And if someone were to mess with your grandkids and you chose to do something outside the law about it, there is nothing in this bill that would able prosecutors to come after you and charge you with a hate crime. You would be charged normally with assault or whatever, but it would be very unlikely a hate crime. And if some attorney wants to try and charge you, I fail to see any jury in this country support it. Now, if a gay couple moved in a couple houses down, and you let everyone in the neighborhood know how much you hate them without ever meeting them, then get caught blowing up thier house. Then yeah, you will be prosecuted under this law. Rightfully so, imho.

Folks, I have been infrequently posting simply because I have become overwhelmed by the blatant stupidity our society has demonstrated since January 20th. What I thought would be an atmosphere rich with subject matter has proved to be an atmosphere with the density of lead, and I am suffocating from the weight of it. Sometimes I awake in the middle of the night and wonder if I may possibly have gone mad.

This bill proposes, up to two years prison for those whose electronic speech causes "substantial emotional distress". "Substantial emotional distres " is one of those loopholes....means something different to each and every person.

Yep, you're on Auntie Janet's watchlist now, Dude, despite the simple fact that politicians are incapable of being insulted by an accusation on moron...itude (I think I just made that up). Topwop, interpretation of the written or spoken word is the life's blood of any lawyer or politician (obvious redundancy, I know). It's kind of like the administration spokesman saying that they will not release anyone they "consider to be a terrorist" from Guantanamo on American soil.
